Privacy policy

About SVG is a guide to St. Vincent and the Grenadines: food, jobs, events, deals, businesses, outages and the people who offer services. This policy covers the About SVG website and the iPhone and Android apps. We don’t sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, and the name you give. If you sign in with Google we also get your Google profile name and photo; with Apple, the email Apple shares (which may be a private relay address) and your name the first time.
- What you post. Posts, flyers, photos and videos you submit, the skills you list, and links you add to them.
- Your settings. Listings you save, the areas you want outage reminders for, and how you want to get them.
- Questions you ask. What you type or say to the assistant, and images you attach for it to read.
- Notifications. A push token for each phone you sign in on, so we can send reminders and updates there.
- Reports. When you report something: what it was, why, and, if you’re signed in, that it was you.
When you speak a question, your phone’s or browser’s speech service turns it into text (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android and in Chrome). We only receive the text. We don’t collect your location, contacts or advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account working.
- To show what you post. Approved posts and your skills listing, with your name, are public on About SVG. Your email isn’t.
- To answer your questions and read flyers and notices you share.
- To send the outage reminders, job alerts and post updates you ask for, by push notification or email.
- To keep About SVG safe: admins review posts before they go live and act on reports.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run About SVG for us, for those purposes:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and stores files.
- OpenRouter, which passes your questions to the AI model that writes the assistant’s answers (currently Google’s Gemini).
- Google’s Gemini AI service, which reads the flyers and notices you share.
- Resend, which sends our emails, such as the codes that confirm your email or reset your password.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service, which deliver notifications.
- Google and Apple, when you choose to sign in with them.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
Keeping and deleting it
We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from Account in the app or on the website. That deletes your account, posts, skills, saved listings and reminders straight away, and ends Sign in with Apple’s access. Copies in backups are gone within 30 days. Reports you sent stay, without your name. How to delete your account.
Children
About SVG isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app for important changes. Questions or requests about your information: support@safyah.com.
